Magic Mela is for the young and young at heart. It's the place to be playful or peaceful. There's play area for Under 5s and a family friendly café.
At Magic Mela you can explore your creativity by transforming every day trash into a beautiful carnival costume to wear on the Tropical Island Parade at 3.00 or make a memento to take home that will remind you to recycle and reuse.

At Magic Mela its all about participation with storytelling from Vayu Naidu and dance from Angel Dance & Dance Asia. So join in, get your face painted and dance like a Bollywood movie star.

Cirque Rum Baba's show Dragon Quest & The Whale

Kawa Circus - Rajasthani feats of daring

The Islands project - a spectacular stilt performance specially commissioned by Bradford, Liverpool and London Melas and inspired by the island cultures and myths of Fiji, Mauritius and Trinidad. Look out for the Tickly Tentacled Octopus, the Resurrection Bird and the Mangrove of Extinction.

The Magic Mela is a special collaboration between the London Mela and Emergency Exit Arts, leading lights in participatory outdoor events for 30 years.

Dragon Quest by Circ Rum Ba Ba
an extraordinary encounter with a goblin queen and her huge ancient dragon. The audience is invited to let go of reality and enter the world of fairy tale and myth becoming involved in goblin mischief and entranced by the 'true to life dragon'.

The Whale by Circ Rum Ba Ba
A large inflatable 18 metre sperm whale is the setting for this installation where brave swashbucklers are invited in by a nosy fish wife to the belly of the beast revealing a lavishly decorated seascape. Once inside they encounter a shipwrecked pirate with a treasure tale to tell and a real life mermaid who sings a haunting siren song and has an intriguing secret.

Vayu Naidu - Story tellers
Wit, wonder and wisdom, meet with powerful rajas, beautiful ranis and shape shifting rakshas for an afternoon of live, high-octane storytelling, perfect for the whole family (ideally 7+).
